Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get started?
Just fill out a quick form. We will get back to you right away with a price estimate and more information. Simple.
How much do you charge?
Our rates start at $80 per hour for most proofreading or copy editing projects. We can also customize our pricing for your business’s specific needs. With Super Copy Editors, you get expert editing plus personal attention.
What’s included?
  • Spelling
  • Punctuation
  • Grammar
  • Word choice
  • Conciseness
  • Sentence structure and flow
  • Consistency in style and voice
  • Revising as needed for clarity
  • Ensuring your message resonates
  • And more
This goes well beyond what most business proofreading services offer—unless you pay them extra. Of course, when your copy has been finalized and just needs a straightforward careful proofread for any major errors, we can do that too—with finesse.
What file types can I send you to proofread?
We can handle Microsoft Word (.doc, .docx), Adobe Acrobat (.pdf), PowerPoint (.ppt, .pptx), Microsoft Excel (.xls, .xlsx), Google Docs, Google Slides, Google Sheets, image files (.png, .jpg), animated GIFs, videos, website text, emails, and more.
I need you to review my text right away. How quickly can you do this?
Our standard turnaround is next business day. But if you’re in a hurry, we may be able to return your document to you fully copy edited in as little as one or two hours. We offer both rush and urgent rush rates, so we’re confident you’ll be covered. Please note that our office hours are weekdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern.
Do you have a minimum? My document is only one page.
We can take on any project, big or small. We have even edited single sentences before. We charge a reasonable fee of $40 for the ½ hour.
Which style do you use?
We can adjust to any specific style you require. We’re very experienced with Chicago Manual of Style, Associated Press, AMA, APA, and MLA, to name a few. If you have a custom in-house style, we’ll learn it like nobody’s business—and we won’t ever charge you some silly “style guide reading” fee, like other editing services do. Once we begin working with you regularly, we’ll even begin compiling a personalized style “cheat sheet” for you so we can keep everything consistent going forward. That’s a free service.
Can I send you my document anytime?
Yes. Our business hours are weekdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern, except holidays. However, you may send us your file whenever you are ready. If you send us something after business hours, you will hear back from us around 10 a.m. the next weekday.
Where are you located exactly?
Super Copy Editors is based in Brooklyn, New York, in the Williamsburg neighborhood. We love it here in NYC! However, we handle work from all over the world, and members of our hand-picked copy editing team are located across the country.
Do you have any customer reviews?
We are proud of our five-star Google reviews and Better Business Bureau reviews. You can read many more client testimonials here: Super Copy Editors reviews. We also invite you to check out some of our case studies. Will you be our next client success story?
Do you guarantee the quality of your copy editing?
Your satisfaction is extremely important to us. We strive for perfection, and our work is reviewed internally for quality assurance. Of course, we realize that editing quality can be subjective, so here is our guarantee:
“The Super Copy Editors team seeks to provide complete satisfaction to our clients. We strive to service all documents to a high and exacting standard. If you have any questions or concerns about your edited document, please know that we are always available to discuss these with you. We are happy to explain every decision we have made. If you are not 100% satisfied with our work, for any reason at all, we will have another editor from Super Copy Editors read the document again for no extra charge when you request this within 10 days of receiving it from us.”
Tell me more about your 100% On-Time Guarantee.
We believe that Super Copy Editors is the only editing service to offer a 100% money-back satisfaction guarantee warranting that we will deliver your documents back to you exactly when we say we will, and not a minute later. This (and our individual attention) is what truly sets us apart. Here is our On-Time Guarantee:
“We will complete your project on or before the agreed-upon time, or you do not have to pay us for that project. If your project is large and we split it into milestones (for example, ‘the first 10 chapters by Monday at 3 p.m.’), you do not have to pay us for any milestone that we did not complete on time.”
I need you to keep my project confidential. Can you do this?
Absolutely. We never share your private information. In addition, we regularly train our editors in current best practices for maintaining confidentiality and protecting your information. It’s very important to us because we know it’s important to you. We include a confidentiality clause in our standard service agreement, and we’re happy to sign a separate nondisclosure agreement with you as well.
Are you insured?
Insurance is part of any legitimate business, and Super Copy Editors is no different. Our $3 million policy with Lloyd’s CFC includes both commercial general liability and professional liability (errors & omissions and privacy). If your business requires proof of insurance from us, please just let us know.
Will you gain any rights to my work?
Yikes! Definitely not. Any work that you send us remains yours and yours alone, even if you accept changes to the text that we suggested. You own the work. Period.
Can you just invoice my company?
Yes, invoicing is available for corporate accounts. We simply send out an invoice at the end of each month to collect payment.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept credit cards, checks, or direct deposit.

“I love working with Super Copy Editors. Fast, efficient, and deadly with a red pen. We’re totally thrilled with all that you do to help us.”
