Our standard hourly rate for businesses starts at $80 for most proofreading or copy editing projects. If you have a shorter project that takes under ½ hour (such as proofreading a single blog post of 700 words), we’ll ask for $40 for that minimum ½ hour of our time. We can also customize pricing to suit your company’s specific needs. Remember, when you hire Super Copy Editors, you’ll get not only highly accurate copy editing or proofreading, but also individual attention—which larger editing services cannot or will not give you.

This goes well beyond what most proofreading services offer—unless you pay them extra. Of course, when your copy has been finalized and just needs a straightforward careful proofread for any major errors, we can do that too—with finesse.
We can handle Microsoft Word (.doc, .docx), Adobe Acrobat (.pdf), PowerPoint (.ppt, .pptx), Microsoft Excel (.xls, .xlsx), Google Docs, Google Slides, Google Sheets, image files (.png, .jpg), animated GIFs, videos, website text, emails, and more.
Our standard turnaround is next business day. But if you’re in a hurry, we may be able to return your document to you fully copy edited in as little as one or two hours. We offer both rush and urgent rush rates, so we’re confident you’ll be covered. Please note that our office hours are weekdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern.
We can take on any project, big or small. We have even edited single sentences before. There is a reasonable minimum fee that we must charge for our time: $40 for ½ hour.
We can adjust to any specific style you require. We’re very experienced with Chicago Manual of Style, Associated Press, APA, MLA, and New York Times, to name a few. If you have a custom in-house style, we’ll learn it like nobody’s business—and we won’t ever charge you some silly “style guide reading” fee, like other editing services do. Once we begin working with you regularly, we’ll even begin compiling a personalized style “cheat sheet” for you so that we can keep everything consistent going forward. That’s a free service.
Our business hours are weekdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern, excluding holidays. However, we accept inquiries 24 hours a day, seven days a week, any day of the year. If you send us something after 6 p.m., you will hear back from us around 10 a.m. the next weekday.
Super Copy Editors is based in Brooklyn, New York, in the Williamsburg neighborhood. We love it here in NYC! However, we handle work from all over the world, and members of our hand-picked copy editing team are located across the country.
Your satisfaction is extremely important to us. We strive for perfection, and our work is reviewed internally for quality assurance. Of course, we realize that editing quality can be subjective, so here is our guarantee:

“We will complete your project on or before the agreed-upon time, or you do not have to pay us for that project. If your project is large and we split it into milestones (for example, ‘the first 10 chapters by Monday at 3 p.m.’), you do not have to pay us for any milestone that we did not complete on time.”
Absolutely. We never share your private information. In addition, we regularly train our editors in current best practices for maintaining confidentiality and protecting your information. It’s very important to us because we know it’s important to you. We include a confidentiality clause in our standard service agreement, and we’re happy to sign a separate nondisclosure agreement with you as well.
Insurance is part of any legitimate business, and Super Copy Editors is no different. Our $3 million policy with Lloyd’s CFC includes both commercial general liability and professional liability (errors & omissions and privacy). If your business requires proof of insurance from us, please just let us know.
Yikes! Definitely not. Any work that you submit to us remains yours and yours alone, even if you accept changes that we suggest to the text. You own the work. Period.
Yes, invoicing is available for corporate accounts. We simply send out an invoice at the end of each month to collect payment.
We accept credit cards, checks, or direct deposit. Our credit card payment processing is handled by Stripe and PayPal. We never see your private payment details because they are held only on Stripe’s or PayPal’s secure servers. Stripe has been audited by a PCI-certified auditor and is certified to PCI Service Provider Level 1. This is the most stringent level of certification available in the payments industry.
