The use of the Super Copy Editors Website and the contracting of our services are both an acknowledgement and an acceptance of the Service’s terms and conditions as put forth in this document.
1. Definitions
Service (“we,” “our,” or “us”) — “Super Copy Editors” provides services via the SuperCopyEditors.com Website.
Customer (“Customers,” “User) — any person or organization who visits the Website or submits material for services via the Website.
services — collectively, proofreading, editing, or other fee-based document alterations provided by the Service.
2. Confidentiality, privacy, ownership, and copyright of material
Super Copy Editors strives to provide a secure and reliable copy editing and proofreading service to our Customers.
We take your privacy very seriously. We will never disclose to a third party any identifying personal information about our clients or their work, in part or in whole, unless required to do so by law.
All material submitted to the Service remains the intellectual property of the original author, who retains all rights and privileges granted by all applicable copyright laws. We will never share or reproduce any work, in part or in its entirety, submitted to us without the express, written consent of the original author.
3. Content of submitted or created materials
We adhere to the highest standards of ethical conduct. Consequently, we advise Customers that copyright infringement and plagiarism are serious offenses. We reserve the right to refuse or terminate services on documents that are discovered to contain copyrighted or plagiarized materials.
We accept no liability or responsibility for content contained in Customer documents, including but not limited to misleading statements, defamatory remarks, or the infringement of any copyright laws. Furthermore, by contracting the services of Super Copy Editors, the Customer hereby indemnifies us from any resultant legal action taken in response to the content of the document submitted for services.
The Customer agrees to review changes made to their submitted material by us. This responsibility constitutes an acceptance of changes made and an acknowledgment that the Service is not responsible or liable for the content of the material.
Users are hereby prohibited from posting or transmitting to the site any virus-infected, threatening, libelous, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, or other material that would violate any law.
4. Description of services
SuperCopyEditors.com provides comprehensive, professional copy editing and proofreading services. Texts are checked for proper grammar as well as effective sentence structure, diction, and flow. We strive to assure that texts are free of common errors such as colloquial language, non-parallel sentence structure, or improper subject-verb agreement.
Note that we do not provide formatting assistance, such as APA formatting from scratch or correct order or formatting of references. By submitting a document to Super Copy Editors, the Customer acknowledges that formatting is not a part of the project.
5. Quality
The Super Copy Editors team seeks to provide complete satisfaction to our Customers. We strive to service all documents to a high and exacting standard. If you are not 100% satisfied with our work, for any reason at all, within three (3) days of receiving it from us, we will have another editor from Super Copy Editors read the document again, for no extra charge.
Satisfaction Guarantee:
“If you have any questions or concerns about your edited document, please know that we are always available to discuss these with you. We are happy to explain every decision we have made. If you are still not satisfied with the work of an editor, we will send your document to another editor within our company for a second round of proofing done to your standards, at no extra cost to you.”
The Customer is responsible for reviewing the serviced material upon completion and contacting the Service should any errors be discovered. We are not obligated to refund the cost of the services, or any part of the cost of the services, if a completed document is discovered to be less than perfect. We request that the Customer contact us within three (3) days if not completely satisfied, and we will work to remedy the situation.
On-Time Guarantee:
“We will complete your project on or before the agreed-upon time, or you do not have to pay us for that project. Note: If your project is large and we split it into milestones (for example, “the first 10 chapters by Monday at 3pm”), you do not have to pay us for any milestone that we did not complete on time.”
Of course, there are some exclusions: technical problems out of our control (see #11 below) and acts of God.
We are not liable for incidental, indirect, consequential, special, punitive, or exemplary damages, including the cost of hiring another editing service, lost revenues or profits, loss of business, or loss of data related to these services. This exemption applies to any claim, loss, or injury based on errors or omissions, interruptions, or any other inaccuracies in an edited Customer document.
SUPER COPY EDITORS MAKES NO REPRESENTATIONS OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, AS TO THE OPERATION OF THIS WEBSITE OR THE INFORMATION, CONTENT, SERVICES, MATERIALS, OR PRODUCTS INCLUDED ON THIS SITE. CUSTOMERS AGREE THAT THE USE OF THIS SITE IS AT THEIR SOLE RISK.
6. Refusal of service
SuperCopyEditors.com reserves the right to refuse or cancel services to any Customer for any reason and without explanation.
7. Termination of service and contractual obligations
In particular, SuperCopyEditors.com reserves the right to terminate all services and contractual obligations with a Customer in the event of the Customer violating any of the terms and conditions contained herein.
A contract between the Customer and Super Copy Editors commences as soon as payment for the services is received by the Service. Receipt of payment by the Service is official confirmation that the Customer is confirming that the work is to commence.
A Customer may cancel the services at any time before the attempted delivery of completed materials by the Service via email or otherwise. Refund of payment in this case is at the sole discretion of the Service and may be subject to fees, including but not limited to bank and transfer fees, processing fees, administration fees, editor costs, and overhead costs.
The Customer is responsible for selecting the desired level of services at the time of submitting a project and providing an accurate word count of the submitted materials. The description of services provided on the Super Copy Editors Website and the accurate word count provided by the Customer, in conjunction with these Terms and Conditions, constitute the statement of work. The Customer assumes all responsibility for any problems, errors, issues, as well as legal liability resulting from an incorrect statement of work.
Super Copy Editors reserves the right to cancel services to any Customer where a virus is suspected in submitted documents. In this case a refund will be issued less any associated fees, including but not limited to bank and transfer fees, processing fees, administration fees, editor costs, and overhead costs.
8. Accuracy of Customer information
Customers are responsible for providing true and accurate information with respect to their identifying personal and contact information. Failure to provide correct and accurate information can result in an incomplete or interrupted services. The Customer assumes all responsibility for any problems, errors, issues, and legal liability resulting from such false information. The Service is not obligated to provide the Customer with a refund in the event that problems with the services arise as a direct result of inaccurate Customer information.
9. Financial fraud or theft
Our payment system is handled solely through PayPal, which has certified secure servers — and we never see your payment information. However, that said, SuperCopyEditors.com is not liable or responsible for the fraudulent use of any payment method, including but not limited to credit cards that may be used to purchase our services.
10. Ownership and copyright of business names and website content
The name “Super Copy Editors” and SuperCopyEditors.com are protected by international copyright and trademark law. These names and Website content cannot be copied, reproduced, used, republished, transmitted, printed, modified, or framed without the express permission of the Service.
11. Technical disclaimer
Super Copy Editors is not liable or responsible for service delays resulting in unforeseen circumstances such as technical problems including server or connection issues that are beyond our control. We will make every effort to meet deadlines and communicate with Customers in the case of technical problems.
Super Copy Editors is not liable or responsible for any damage to computer hardware or software arising from the distribution of a computer virus through the use of our Website or system.
12. Indemnification
The Customer agrees to indemnify and hold Super Copy Editors, David Deleon Baker, and anyone associated with Super Copy Editors harmless for any claim or demand, including reasonable fees and costs for the service of an attorney, or as may be made by any third party due to or arising from use of the site or Service, or violation of the terms and conditions by the Customer, or infringement or any intellectual property or other right of any person or entity by the Customer.
Super Copy Editors gives no assurances or warranty regarding the accuracy, currency, or applicability of any of the Website contents in relation to specific situations and particular circumstances, and disclaims all liability in respect of such information.
13. Jurisdiction
The Service is governed by the laws of the State of New York in the United States of America, and by accepting these terms and conditions the Customer submits to the jurisdiction of the courts in Kings County, New York.
14. Modification of terms and conditions
The terms and conditions contained herein may be modified, amended, altered, or revoked at any time, for any reason, and without notice.
